Terms & Conditions
Prices - What's included? We don't think it makes good sense to compete to be the cheapest in everything. There are those that will appear cheaper, but how much do they charge for post, or how much back-up and service do they provide? Also, if they are that cheap, will their business still be there to help in a few months time should something need replacing? Instead, we aim to give value for money. As our overheads are relatively lower than high street shops, we are passing some of those cost saving on to our customers by keeping our prices below the Recommended Retail Price (RRP) on all MSS products and competitively pricing our own range of upgrade parts. The price you see is the price you pay plus Postage and Packing, the cost of which will be added to your order (please see the Ordering page for details).
Everyone Happy? If you are happy with our products and service, then we are happy. If there is something preventing that from happening, then we will do our very best to put things right as soon as possible. If there is a manufacturing fault with any of our products then please accept our apologies and let us know as soon as possible within 12 months of purchase. We will be open, honest and upfront with you and if we agree with your assessment will either refund or replace free of charge the faulty item and arrange with you for the return of the item to us. We will trust you to be open, honest and upfront with us, so if you accidently damage something, please just let us know and we will try to get you up and running again as soon as possible. After all, we want you to enjoy our products and would rather send a new nut and bolt for free than have a customer of ours not able to use their lovely new loco or fit that upgrade part they have been looking forward to using.
Change Your Mind - No Problem It can be difficult making the right choices and sometimes things are not quite what you expected, especially when purchasing on-line. So, if you change your mind within 7 days after receiving your order don't worry. Providing the goods and packaging have not been used, soiled or damaged, you can return the good to us and we will refund you the full price of the goods, excluding postage and packing. All we ask is that you pay for and use the same postage we used to send the good to you, including any additional service such as recorded delivery and or additional insurance. However, to ensure a smooth service, please contact us first to confirm arrangements.
Specifications - Things Evolve To improve quality or production, any product, part or component might be subject to minor changes in specification from that described or show in a photograph. However, any major revision will be updated on this website.
Safety Notice - Common Sense By their nature
the live steam locomotives sold through this website involve naked flames
and will have hot surfaces and hot water and steam under pressure.
Legal Waffle - Keeping it Simple Like many website businesses we could write a whole load of legal waffle here that makes it sound like you are signing away all your rights and we are shirking all responsibility. In reality, most website customers don't read or understand that stuff, and probably neither do the owners of the business. The reality is, despite putting all sorts of legal disclaimers in the terms and condition, any online business based in the UK is pretty much subject to the same statutory laws, rules and regulations. So if a business says something like: "We will not be held liable for any loss or damage whatsoever in any manner caused by anything in connection with anything we may have done - ever" well they are fooling themselves and their customers. Everything a business does is governed by laws and they can't choose to opt-out of their responsibility or liability just because they say so in their terms and conditions. At the end of the day, if there was a problem, the normal UK laws, rules and regulations dictate what should happen. Therefore, all we will say here is that English Law applies to all aspects of our business. This includes:
